Systems. Habits. Outcomes.
June 4 2024Caffeinated Thought of the Week:
Craig Groeschel tweeted: “Systems create behaviors. Behaviors become habits. Habits drive outcomes.” I would like to add: first, know why you want the outcome, and finish with having grit.
Here’s a simple example: You want to save $5,000 in a year.
- Why: To start saving for a future car purchase.
- System: Set a monthly budget and automatic weekly transfers of $97 (5000/52) to a savings account.
- Habit: Stick to the budget and review your finances weekly.
- Outcome: Become a person who saves more than they spend.
- Grit: Find new ways to increase your income or reduce your spending.
Quote of the Week:
“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” - James Clear
Reflection of the Week:
What outcome are you currently working towards? Now, how can you create a system and habit to drive that outcome?
