The book Culture Code by Danile Coyle shares how Greg Popovich helped build up the San Antonio Spurs and continues to outperform his win projection year after year. Coach Popovich has created a unique culture that is rare for the NBA.
Three Principles of Coach Popovich:

1. Tell his players the truth and love them to death
2. "We gotta hug ’em and hold ’em.”
3. Feedback loop to players - I care about you. We have high standards here. Give them the big-picture perspective.
